Nintendo plans on releasing five games on mobile devices by March 2017 according to their yearly financial results briefing. The first is due out by the end of this year.
As yet the nature of the games, or the platforms to be released on is unknown. This is still a major break from Nintendo's previously steadfast policy of creating games for their own hardware only.
We can only hope that the upcoming titles will be of high quality, be successful sellers and entice Nintendo to continue developing games for mobile devices.
